Rev 15:4 All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."
Does God want us to worship Him just because He is a proud and arrogant Supreme Being? No, the truth is far from that. Worship, true worship, is an indication of the realisation of the truth. The truth is that God is the Supreme Being and He is utterly good and the perfect expression of love, and totally perfect. When we genuinely catch even a glimmer of this reality, our hearts will be moved in adoration and worship, for there is no other like Him. It's not a case of ‘you ought to' or ‘you must', but it is just the natural expression of reality.
The life of the nation of Israel should have acted as a light to the rest of the world. They should have revealed the wonder of the Lord and been ambassadors to the rest of the world, but they weren't. The church of Jesus Christ similarly should be a light to the rest of the world, and we should be his ambassadors to them for him, but so often we are not. So often we are divisive and separatist, so often we distort the truth and don't reveal Him as He is.
However, one day there will come a time when the Lord will make clear to the world His intent through His acts. One day it will be quite clear who He is and what His intent is, and on that day then every nation will do what they then have to do – bow before Him. Yes, even hard hearts will bow at that time before Him for the truth will be quite clear and He WILL be worshipped. Let's practice for that day.
