Psa 43:3 Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Whatever ‘problems' I have in my life, this verse acts as the key to resolving them. I need to know the way ahead, I am unsure of life, I'm uncertain about how to proceed, and so I need to be able to ‘see' where I'm going, what I ought to do. I need the Lord to shine on my circumstances that I might see clearly and know the way ahead.
I need to have a sense of confidence, a sense of security, and a sense of reassurance; I need to know what is real and the truth about life. At times I fear uncertainty, and so I need to know the truth. I want to be sure about life, and so I need the Lord to guide me into truth. In the days to come, I need that sense of being shown the way, of walking with clarity that comes from knowing the truth, and only the Lord can bring this.
But there is an even bigger issue, for I have come to learn that the safest and most secure place is with the Lord, and so I need His light and His truth to lead me and guide me into a place where, perhaps more than anything else, I am aware of His presence. The world can be falling down but if I know the sense of His presence, that is all that matters, because He is God almighty and He is never shaken and He is never at risk by the circumstances of life. He is always like a solid unmovable rock. I need to know Him.
